To mark this momentous occasion we have created  5 course tasting menu.<br />
We will launch the menu for dinner on Tuesday 22nd and Wednesday 23rd May and starting the evening with a celebratory Royal Pimms Cocktail and finishes with Flame on the Iceberg dessert.We will run this menu throughout the Olympic and Paralympic Games (27th July to 12 August and 29th August to 9th September). <p>We are delighted to welcome Adreas Tauber of Vina Leyda in Chile to our next Cookery by Ronnie events, A Cornish Surf and Turf with Chocolate and Vina Leyda</p>
<p>Viña Leyda was founded in 1997, in Leyda Valley. Today it is recognized as the last great innovation of Chilean viticulture.  The pioneering Leyda team led the way in developing the area and showcasing the Valley’s unique terroir, creating the new designation of origin, D.O. Leyda Valley in May 2002.</p>
<p>This cookery by Ronnie event was originally created to also showcase the fabulous seafood coming from the Cornish coast. But a showing of Chilean wines would be incomplete without the inclusion of a superbly balanced Red, so we’ve added a Cornish Beef courses. With the origins of chocolate firmly set in South America, we added a chocolate course too, and call in ‘A Cornish Surf and Turf with Chocolate’.</p>
<p>The evening starts with arrival drinks at 7pm, followed by dinner at 7:30pm.The menu with wine is £55 per person, so please book early to avoid disappointment.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Spring is a fantastic time to be a chef. All the new foods and flavours start appearing in the kitchen. Greens, broad beans, peas, spring lamb, New Jersey Royals and so on. We see the new produce starting to appear in Cornwall and it works its way up the country with the warming weather. We are lucky here in Bristol and Thornbury to get gorgeous West Country lamb quite early in the season, round about May and sometimes as early as April, this when it is at its most tender and prime. Our three key butchers are Traditional Meats, Gales, and Ruby &amp; White— each are very high quality meat producers, and each with something special to offer at different points on the calendar.</p>
<p>With the new spring produce comes change. Our menu is always evolving but there is a special review around Easter, the traditional date in the calendar for a new spring menu. The dishes will become a bit lighter at this time and customers will start to notice the changes in the menu.</p>
<p>There&#8217;s no formal system for creating a new menu; it is a more gradual, creative process, actually it is very fluid. We have several talents in each kitchen, and of course I also like to get stuck in! We&#8217;ll start work on a new dish, test it in the kitchen.</p>
<p>New dishes go often go through several changes, some are small and others demand a complete overhaul, and we all have an input. I have two very talented head chefs whom I give time and space to express themselves creatively. They have plenty of room to experiment and push their skills forward. In many way this is what makes The Muset and Ronnie&#8217;s different from the branded chains. Those places get everything dictated from head office: the menus, suppliers and so on. There is a distinct personality to each and individual excellence can shine through.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Ronnie’s of Thornbury is proud to support The Northavon Youth Theatre Company. This Easter, Thornbury’s prized drama school has been granted permission to produce one of Broadway’s greatest musicals. Although the name can not be advertised, it’s a musical we are all familiar with set in the 1950’s and tells a tale of the coming of age of a group of teenagers who voice the truth about their struggle with image, self consciousness and being ‘cool’ when the opposite sex is around!</p>
<p>The show is being performed at the Armstrong Hall from the 3rd to the 7th April at 7:30pm with Friday&#8217;s performance starting at 3pm.</p>
<p>Ronnie’s is donating a meal each evening to the lucky winner of the raffle, and for those who would like to make night of it, the restaurant will be opening early for a pre theatre dinner from discounted menu.</p>
<p>The restaurant will open from 5:30pm for Pre Theatre Menu only, so please book to avoid disappointment. The menu is priced at;</p>
<p>£16 for 2 courses</p>
<p>£19 for 3 courses</p>

<p>Ronnie and Rollo have selected some fantastic wines that have been matched with the sumptuous menu below, taking on the theme ‘The Elegance of Hearty British Cooking’.  Ronnie is back in the kitchen cooking up another storm whilst placing emphasis on the finesse and elegance of each course, whilst Rollo will talk us through each of the wines. <p>At Ronnie’s of Thornbury we’ve noticed things have changed. Most alarmingly we’ve noticed our customers are buying less wine. Being a firm believer that a good meal can only become great in the presence of friends and a bottle of fine  wine, I’ve introduced our &#8220;off license&#8221; range.</p>
<p>The ‘Wine Merchant&#8217;s’ range includes a selection of fabulous wines that we are making available to buy at retail prices so you can take them home. And to make the offer even more attractive, you can drink them in the restaurant for a small corkage of £5. The offer excludes Saturday evenings. Buy a case of 6 and we’ll give you a further 10% discount.</p>
<p>I’ve taken these steps as a result of taking over a restaurant that was previously a BYO establishment. I realised that the previous proprietor and I had a common goal, which is to sell food. The wine is merely a catalyst to a great evening and a full restaurant. However my passion for wine has prohibited me from converting to a BYO restaurant, but rather brought me to the negotiating table with my wine suppliers. I believe I’ve found the perfect solution to bring you, my customer, a fantastic  selection of wine at prices that could change the way we buy wine in restaurants. Come and see for yourself and you&#8217;ll find wines on offer at half the price of our competitors.</p>
<div>This is a trial, but if it goes well, I&#8217;ll change my whole list. I&#8217;ve listed the wines on offer below and look forward to seeing you soon.</div>
